View All and Modify All Permissions
“View All” and “Modify All” Permissions
“View All” and “Modify All” are object permissions that are found in profiles and allow access to all records of the object.
The “View All” and “Modify All” permissions ignore sharing rules and settings, allowing administrators to quickly grant access to all records associated with a given object across the organization.
“View All” and “Modify All” can be better alternatives to the “View All Data” and “ModifyAll Data” permissions (System Permissions) that are too extensive: view and modify all records regardless of the object. .
Example: The business operations department needs to report on all the opportunities generated in the organization, regardless of the owner.
NB: Users who have “View All Data” and “ModifyAll Data” permissions can access data updating, deduplication, mass deletion, mass transferring, and managing record approvals regardless of the security model and ownership.
